Large family certificate
Description:

This certificate entitles the holder to the status of large family and allows him/her to enjoy advantages with various institutions, entities and commercial establishments. Each family member is issued with a card

The status of large family is granted to families with one or two parents with three or more children, whether or not they have children in common. Other family compositions are also recognised as large families, which can be consulted in the “Requirements” section.

Requirements:

Beneficiaries:

The status of large family can be obtained by families made up of the following:

  • One or two parents with three or more children, whether or not they are children in common.
  • Separated or divorced persons with three or more children, regardless of whether they are children in common, even if they are in different family units, and provided that they are economically dependent on them, even if they do not live in the same household. In this case, the person who chooses to apply for the status and proposes to take into account the children who do not live with him or her, must present the judicial decision or a judicially ratified regulatory agreement in which his or her obligation to pay maintenance is declared (compliance with this obligation is accredited with the last six receipts for the payment of said maintenance). Separated or divorced persons who have joint custody of their children are advised to provide a written agreement between themselves as to who is to appear on the certificate with the children in common.
  • Two or more siblings who have lost both parents and live with the guardian or foster carer, but are not financially dependent on her/him.
  • Three or more orphaned siblings over the age of 18, or two if one of them is a disabled person, who live together and are financially dependent on each other.
  • One person with two sons or daughters, in the event of the death of the other parent.
  • One or two ascendants with two sons or daughters, whether common or not, provided that at least one of these sons or daughters has a recognised disability equal to or greater than 33% or is unable to work.
  • Two ascendants with two sons or daughters, whether or not they are common, when both ascendants have a recognised disability equal to or greater than 33% each, or at least one of them has a degree of disability equal to or greater than 65%, or are unable to work. It is understood that families consisting of a single parent with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 65% or who is unable to work, with two children, if applicable, are included in this case.
