The subsidised T-usual* card is intended for unemployed people who are currently looking for work and who receive a public benefit from any administration for a gross amount less than the current minimum interprofessional wage (€1,184 per month).
The price of a subsidised T-usual is €5.50 (instead of the €44 that a T-usual normally costs).
The subsidised T-usual is for one zone and can only be used in the zone where it was first validated. The Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) can expand the number of zones for a T-usual if required for active jobseeking on an SOC programme.
Since 26 February 2025, the subsidised T-usual has not been sold as a magnetic card but loaded on the plastic T-movilidad card.
If the interested person doesn’t have the plastic T-movilidad, they have to apply for one.
You must be unemployed and meet one of these three conditions:
- Be in receipt of a subsidy or benefit from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) of less than €1,184 (SMI).
- Be in receipt of any assistance less than €1,184 (SMI) or not receive any assistance at all but be registered as a jobseeker for at least 12 months in the last 2 years and be actively seeking work.
- Be in receipt of a benefit from the social services of a local authority in the integrated tariff system of less than €1,184 (SMI) and not receive any financial help from the State.
In order to apply for the subsidised T-usual, it is necessary to present a certificate from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), from the Labour Office, or from the Social and Economic Benefits Office of the Municipal Institute of Social Services (IMSS) of Barcelona. Each certificate entitles the holder to purchase a maximum of three subsidised T-usual cards.
