Subsidies to facilitate access to a dwelling or room under a rental or transfer-of-use scheme for young people with limited financial resources
- Age: Applicants must be no more than 35 years of age at the time of the call for applications.
- Household: A household is a group of people registered at the same address, whether or not they are related to each other.
- Registration in the municipal register: Yes, applicants must be registered as residents of Catalonia at the time of the application. Applicants must be the holders of the rental or transfer-of-use agreement and be registered as residents in the dwelling or room.
- Legal residence: Yes. Applicants must have legal residence in Spain, demonstrated with a valid residence permit.
- Required documentation: Spanish national identity document (DNI), valid certificate of registration as an EU national, identity number for foreign nationals (NIE), valid identity card for foreign nationals (TIE), document stating where a registered individual lives and with whom, family record book (libro de familia).
- Employment status: Applicants for the Bono Alquiler Joven must provide proof of income from work.
- Income:
- Applicants must have a regular source of income that provides an annual income of no more than €25,200 in any of the following years, including the incomes of the other people who have their permanent and habitual residence in the same dwelling, whether or not their names appear as holders of the rental or transfer-of-use agreement: 2024, 2025 or 2026.

Regarding the calculation of income:
- If only one person appears as the holder of the rental agreement, the total household income will be taken into account.
- If two or more people appear as holders of the rental agreement and two or more of them apply for this subsidy, their individual incomes will be taken into account. However, if only one of them applies for the subsidy, the total household income will be taken into account.
- If the contract is for a single room, only the applicant’s individual income will be taken into account.

Under no circumstances may this income be less than the rent of the property or room.
- Proof of income:
- 2024: Personal income tax (IRPF) return for 2024. Income is the sum of the income from the general taxable base (box 435) and the savings taxable base (box 460), minus the net balance from box 420.
- 2025: Imputed income certificate provided by the tax authorities and/or certificate of income and withholdings issued by the company/ies, or the corresponding certificate of tax-exempt financial aid or benefits, as well as a Declaration of Compliance setting out all the income received in that year (since the imputed income certificate for 2025 will not be available until July 2026, applicants must provide the certificate(s) of income and withholdings for 2025).
- 2026: Declaration of Compliance setting out the applicant’s income obtained to date and their expected income for the rest of the year, their employment contract and all pay slips received up to the date of the application.
- Housing situation:

Applicants must hold a rental or transfer-of-use agreement for a dwelling or room that serves as their habitual and permanent residence.

Applicants must be up to date with their rent or transfer-of-use payments at the time of the application.

The rent receipts submitted must fulfil the following requirements:

They must be from 2026.
- They must all be paid.
- They must have been paid by bank transfer, direct debit, direct deposit into a bank account or Bizum, or there must be a receipt issued by the property manager.

They must state the tenant and owner’s (or other type of landlord) names, the reason for the payment, the amount of monthly rent and the month to which it relates.

The monthly rent or transfer-of-use payment for the dwelling or room must be no more than the following amounts:
- For a dwelling:

The following are not eligible for subsidies:
- Households where the leaseholder or any other member is related to the landlords by marriage or any equivalent stable relationship, or by blood, adoption or affinity up to the second degree.
- Tenants of housing managed or administered by the Catalan Housing Agency, either directly or through other public administrations or non-profit organisations.
- Incompatibilities:
These subsidies cannot be combined with other financial aid from any public administration or from public or private organisations for the same monthly payments of the same year, if they serve the same purpose.
They are also incompatible with rental payment assistance and/or benefits provided by the Barcelona Housing Consortium, except when the Consortium’s rental payment assistance and/or benefit ends within the calendar year of this call for applications and cannot be renewed under the Barcelona rental payment benefits scheme for any months not covered by this assistance.
- Amount and frequency:
The subsidy will be €250 per month, up to the amount of the monthly rent or transfer-of-use payment.
The subsidy is granted for two years, provided that the requirements for eligibility continue to be fulfilled.
In the case of contracts in force before 1 January 2026, the subsidy will be for the amount of the monthly payments falling between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027.
If the total amount of the subsidies granted for the same property exceeds the established limit, the amount received by each beneficiary will be proportionally reduced.
- Deadlines:
The subsidy is granted for the year of the call for applications. This year, applications may be submitted between 9 am on 9 March 2026 and 2 pm on 13 March 2026 inclusive.
Decisions on applications will be made in order of receipt at the relevant registry, with all the correct documentation, until the budget has been exhausted.
